Glad that you mentioned this. It did seem at the time (Summer 2016) soooo strange that this would be done by the Rs at all, and that it would happen in such circumstances.

It clearly stank, but seemed to be buried by the avalanche of mendacity to follow.

8. Never to forget. I remember Syria assisting Russia's invasion

of Ukraine back then also, Russia helping Syria's crime-family government regain control, and now Russia has the Crimea and a port on the Mediterranean in Syria, and a promising new relationship with Iran. Syria was supposed to get control of half the Kurdish homeland, and Russia's now objecting to Trump sending troops to the Kurdish oil fields in eastern Syria to keep Assad from grabbing them instead. Thieves falling out. But otherwise all planned.

And, I don't think incidentally, a person running for president in the Democratic primary, as one former intelligence officer sorta put it (I don't remember the precise words), recites official Russian and Syrian lines with remarkable fluency. This was in response to being asked if he thought Russia had an asset in our election.

And our intelligence services say Iran's stepped up its occult warfare intervention in our 2020 election.
