(12,165 posts)Much of what they say and do is jealousy of president Obama's global popularity.
I am going to edit my post so it makes more sense.

So, when it appeared to me that you were thinking I was jealous of Obama, well, that was a reasonable reaction.

What they have is a lifeless empty suit who rivals Bob Dole for least personable major candidate to come down the pike in awhile.

(1 post)It wasn't easy getting her to the polls, but she couldn't believe she'd lived long enough to see America nominate a black man for President and she wasn't going to miss participating. She's still with us at 94, but I'm not sure she'll be lucid enough to vote this time.

(47,992 posts)because we have been paying attention, even to the Teapublican convention, so we knew that's not what we were looking at and we also knew that the President hasn't done a stadium of that size probably since 2008.

I think it would be funny as hell if Obama descended in a sort of Deus ex Machina device to the podium, maybe with cherubs fluttering around.

Obama descends from clouds, to stirring string music, and an uplifting choir.

(67,782 posts)....the most thrilling scene was when that big CNN screen flipped at 10:00 CT in Grant Park, Chicago, and tens of thousands rose as one and cheered when CNN showed Obama's photograph with that trademark wide grin!
Here's a video of the countdown......

(34,582 posts)and I remember the night he won. I remember how proud I was of this country and my vote, even if it didn't matter here in Texas. I hope to have that feeling again. It was the only time in my adult life I felt proud of who I voted for. Hell, I got choked up in the ballot booth.
