And the Republicans looked especially stupid today. They look far more stupid than they did yesterday, and yesterday they looked pretty stupid. Just waiting the jerks out was clearly the smartest thing to do. I wonder whose idea today's stupid move by the Republicans was?..I don't know, but we will all find out, someday. But it does have the markings of one particularly stupid person, whose name I will not repeat here.

(8,844 posts)The room is now "contaminated" and should be thoroughly searched for "bugs" "transmitters" etc etc etc. before resuming the hearing.
They have already re started the depositions without having "swept" the room for any electronic eavesdropping items left by the 30+
I wouldn't put anything past them. The Dems and Repubs in the hearings can't tell the outside world what is happening until after the deposition is adjourned, so I could see a bug or bugs getting planted so that the Repubs on the outside could eavesdrop and start preparing their counter lies and launching them even before the Dems on the outside could even learn from those inside what happened......

The KGOP all blew through security even if they were cleared to be there.
Try that at the airport and see what happens!

(18,486 posts)Members have access to the House SCIF whenever they want - and no one is empowered to stop them from entering. However, Members usually have respected the confidentiality of proceedings being held there and only go in on an as-needed basis. They don't barge in to other committee's proceedings or meetings there.
The real problem is not that they breached protocol, but that they breached security and put our national security by bringing in phones and even using them while in the secure facility.
