General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region Forumstrump just said that Miami Airport was "one of the biggest airports in the world, maybe the biggest"
Fact: It's not even in the top 20, or in the top 5 in the United States:

(11,744 posts)He admitted he had never heard of the emoluments clause and tried to pass it off as if NOBODY had ever heard of it. The thing is, most people understand that you should not use the power of the government to personally enrich yourself, especially when dealing with foreign powers. That is one of the reasons why there is a general dislike of politicians. People think that politicians line their pockets handing out favors. Trump is actually trying to do it right out in the open because again, he does not understand how things work and is used to be crooked right out in the open.
Every President has written books or a memoir. They have given speeches for which they were paid. It is expected and understood that a President, especially the first Black President is going to be sought after to share his experiences. He is going to make money. There is no expectation that Presidents just go hide away and go broke or do nothing the rest of their lives. W Bush started painting and if someone wants to buy the stuff he paints, then go for it, nothing wrong with that. Granted Bush should be in jail for Iraq, but he isn't and if he wants to go on a speaking tour or write a book, then there isn't anything wrong with that.
Trump actively pushing for foreign and domestic leaders to use his properties is text book violation. If he waited until he was out of office and stated hawking his crap, then it would be a different story.
He is just an idiot.

(3,131 posts)Sometimes taxiing at dfw feels like you are driving to your destination.
But unless there are runway restrictions the size of Miami airport has nothing to do with why doral was an emolument. Captain obvious signing off

Just straight out, "You are completely wrong. Miami is not even in the top 10 US airports. It is number 15. If we are talking world...then Miami isn't even in the top 30."
Then they should follow up with..."Why is it that you constantly say things that are wrong, inaccurate, or straight up lies, when they are so easily disproven?"
Someone will call it out in a few minutes 0 sadly few of them are prepared to shout that is not true in his presence.

While he stands there and lies about everything from airports to Obama, they just sit there and let Fux News collect soundbites instead of correcting him right there and then on the spot.

(18,402 posts)There are 14 other cities in the US (much less the world, where Beijing, Tokyo, and Dubai airports are massively traveled), including my hometown's airport, O'Hare, which is third busiest in the US.
