(1,812 posts)We were played by the media ...They did the same damn thing regarding Patrick J."Bulldog" Fitzgerald ...He was going to frog-march Karl Rove out of the White House ...They were both Republicans posessed of unquestioned integrity and steel resolve Then you find out they were scared to lay a glove on the key players .. The commentators on Cable TV who worshipped Mueller on air for 2 years owe us an apology... Some should have been fired... ...

(35,326 posts)Mueller made a lot of arrest including Trump's attorney, campaign manager and personal accountant.
The dominoes looked to be lining up
Mueller never gave the final push

(2,061 posts)Not buying it. While I did have a bit of a hero crush on Fitz! I won't bury him or Mueller under a slab of cowardice. Even for a law enforcement body as powerful as the DOJ, investigating and/or indicting members of the White House (and failsons) is a hard damned slog.
Some people expected too much from Fitzgerald and Mueller. I agree with that.
Fitzgerald put the Dick Cheney's chief of staff in jail. Mueller is still putting Trump thugs in jail.
