Wait. When my grandparents mixed Slovak in with English. It was a hoot! They also put a Slavic spin on English words. 🤣

(43,545 posts)2 of the 3 times we were in Vienna visiting friends on holiday, we took the Danube ferry to Bratislava (and back) for a quick overnight. Superb part of Europe (I was born in L.A. but grew up in London, and I am living in Stockholm, doing my post grad now, atm.) The last time was 2 years ago, in mid-September, and we got lucky as the once a year 'Good Market' on Panenska Street was going on. So many small vendors with amazing food, (music too) and all sorts of great handmade items and collectables.

(20,267 posts)Played matchmaker for my mom against her initial push back. My future step-dad born in Sheffield. They had 22 wunnerful years together. We visited his family in the UK in the 70's. Such fond memories!
I married a 2nd generation American Swede [thru and thru], beautiful family and lovely culture one could easily assimilate. 😊
Much success in your post grad!👍
