Mattis was an "adult in the room", which ended in him being fired. He joined a lot of other "adults in the room" in that respect. We will never know how much stuff he and others deflected before they were fired by this administration.

He was supposed to be such an esteemed general. All he had to do was open his mouth and tell people what was going on. Most would have believed him. He didn't, to own shame. Sure, you can appreciate his silly comments. But, he's still a coward.
