Is Mulvaney that dumb in publicly admitting to the Ukrainian quid pro quo...

or did he do that on purpose? Perhaps he got some "bottle courage" somewhere beforehand to "somehow quit trump", but he certainly lost it quickly once he left the podium and his cellphone blew up with calls to walk it back—quick, fast and in a hurry, which he did.

Guess that temporary courage only lasts so long as he's now quietly ensconced back in lickspittle land.

It's a confusing concept! Say it and they will buy it! No harm in doing that, right?

He's of the mindset that if the (Republican) president does it, it's not illegal... and, then tried to walk it back afterwards when it created a firestorm.

He's supposed to be one of few the smart ones on Team Trump.

It's part of the "pretend the crime is normal" strategy that trumpft uses all the time. He probably did it on orders from trumpft who didn't gauge any bloback.

If you admit it, it's not a crime.

They are so accustomed to saying and doing what ever they want, with no real repercussions, they are failing to see that the time JUST might be starting to turn. Well hopefully, anyway.
