Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said "we have to pray" for President Trump's health after what she described as a "meltdown" by the president during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday.
"I pray for the president all the time, and I tell him that. I pray for his safety and that of his family. Now we have to pray for his health, because this was a very serious meltdown on the part of the president," Pelosi said at a press conference after returning to the Capitol.
While Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Trump used the phrase "third-rate politician," Pelosi told reporters back at the Capitol that the president called her a "third grade politician."
The meeting came shortly after the House voted 354-60 to pass a resolution rebuking Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria.

(33,389 posts)You should hope that he is rendered speechless and his hands shrivel (further), but he lives that way a long time, completely dependent on the charity of others.
It's like the old religious joke:
There was a fire and brimstone preacher who regularly, loudly chastised his congregation for skipping church for sports and recreational activities. One sunny Sunday, he skipped in order to play golf, even though he wasn't very good at it.
St. Peter exclaimed to God, "Look at that hypocrite! After personally shaming others, he takes the sabbath to play golf!"
God replied, "Don't worry, he'll get his just reward."
Just then, the preacher hit a hole-in-one. (Odds are about 12,500 to 1).
St. Peter said, "I thought you meant he would be punished."
God said, "Who is he going to tell?"

(51,621 posts)It would make the Spanish Inquisition tortures look like a picnic in comparison. If I weren't an atheist and believed in an after life or reincarnation I could go even further and hope for it to be unending torture throughout eternity..

(15,751 posts)Other quotes, [as I remember them]. 'The President is in a difficult position' . . . 'the House has just passed a resolution rebuking him on Syria by a 354 - 60 vote' . . . [he is ] 'troubled' . . .
fox did cover that live, cut off the later part. Then promptly put on, I doubt if Cavuto had any input, 3 'con Representatives, who stuck to the usual 'con generalities.
fox viewers, I suspect, will not hear about about trump's 354 -60 rebuke, from fox. Certainly not from the following show '5", featuring sneering greg gutfeld?.
[Some fox viewers may hear it if they join the much larger audience of 20 million viewers of traditional NBC, CBS, ABC, news programs]

(16,847 posts)I think she's digging at the religious right fuckers who lay their hands on him and pray for him every chance they get. They think they have a direct pipeline to God and none of our prayers get past the ceiling. I don't believe for a minute that Pelosi prays for him, but the fundagelicals can't say that, for to unmask her hypocrisy would be to unmask theirs. I love what she's doing; I laugh every time she calls for prayers.
