Even a great Democratic president is going to find it nearly impossible to convince the world that we are still a trustworthy great power because the next one up could so easily be another Trumpublican. And that's just for starters.

Newt Gingrich began the process of turning the House Republicans into Propaganda Parrots, and it's all been downhill in the 25 years since. Mitch McConnell did the same for the Senate. Every halfway patriotic Republican congressperson has fled or is now fleeing the people's houses. They may not have had the guts to publicly stand up to the orange authoritarian, but don't want to support him either.

Meanwhile, every president with an "R" after his name starting with Reagan has appointed judges and Justices who march in lockstep with the Kochtocratic Federalist Society.

It was a great country for awhile. but I'm afraid that's over.
