in the Congressional basement, perhaps they can cram them all in there with foil blankets and no water or food or beds. I'm sure that would be appropriate.

But because Democrats are more civil, we'd let their children come and visit once a week.

They should have their attorneys AGGRESSIVELY looking into ALL their options.

And let's also be clear : they should ALSO be including options that require DoJ enforcement. Because if Trump and his cronies refuse to enforce the law, THAT IS ALSO an impeachable offense (refusal to do his Constitutional duty under Article II, Section 3 : "he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed" ).

Lastly, as an aside (because nobody seems to have mentioned it yet): Trump cannot pardon himself out of impeachment once he has actually been impeached by the House -- his pardon power is specifically limited under Article II, Section 2 : "he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment".

Regular people can't afford to spend time in jail. If the result of ignoring a subpoenas is for sure jail they will show up.
