Vice President Mike Pence refuses to turn over documents, defying a House subpoena
Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday said he would not comply with a wide-ranging request for documents from House impeachment investigators trying to better understand any role he may have played in the presidents attempts to pressure Ukraine to political investigations.
In a sternly worded response to an unusual request for documents, Matthew E. Morgan, the counsel to the vice president, accused the committees of requesting material that is clearly not vice-presidential records and blasted the investigation enterprise as a self-proclaimed impeachment inquiry that was ultimately illegitimate.
The House investigators had asked for documents to be produced by Oct. 15.
The tone of the two-page letter matched that of one sent last week by Pat A. Cipollone, the White House counsel, who made it clear the White House would not cooperate with the House impeachment inquiry, and instead intended to go to war against the probe.

anyone who thinks their demands will end there (with a vote) is delusional.

The legitimacy is not for him to decide and saying it is not legitimate does not make it so.
The impeachment inquiry is proclaimed by this nation and the Constitution and that stands firm above your office as VP.

(21,577 posts)3. there is no such thing as an "illigitimate inquiry"
The House has no Constitutional restrictions no such a thing. Just a responsibility to their voters and understanding they will be held accountable if they abuse the power. Otherwise they are free to look into anything they damn well please.
