No, this is not about Trump, yet apropos.A dairy farm in southeastern Minnesota wanted to expand from 1500 cows to 3000 cows. The manure they would produce is 46 million gallons in one year! That amount of manure is twice the amount of waste produced by a city of 100,000 people. A year!
Their permit has been rejected by an appeals court, for the permit did not take into account climate change. Wow!
Here is the article:
Minnesota appeals court says MPCA should have considered mega-dairy's climate change effects
Appeals court says state failed to consider feedlot's effects on climate change.
The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Monday ordered the states pollution regulators to reconsider a permit they approved for a mega-dairy farm in southeastern Minnesota, saying they failed to consider the effects of greenhouse gas emissions from the huge milking operation.
The project at issue is Daley Farms of Lewiston, in Winona County. The Daley family has been fighting to expand their operation from 1,500 to 3,000 cows, or about 6,000 animal units. Thats very large for Minnesota.
The MPCA has failed to conduct full environmental impact reviews of huge feedlots, they said, despite years of protest. The expanded Daley Farms would create more than 46 million gallons of manure each year, twice as much waste as the city of Rochester, they said in a statement.

In addition to the 46 million gallons of smelly manure, there is an enormous amount of methane produced and other toxic and polluting issues.

it isnt the farts, it's the belches. and it's because we feed them too much corn. start feeding them a more natural diet, ie, grass, and you can cut that to close to zero.
amana iowa runs on the electricity from one farm.
