Nancy Pelosi got it right. When the house votes on impeachment she will have all of the Democrats

and a fair number of Republicans also. And the potential vote for removal will be a toss-up before the Senate trial begins. That is how this is going down.

will be the "people's trial'. As this is the least damaging alternative of the 3 choices he has in front of him.


Nothing in the constitution mandates a time frame at all. nothing stops McConnel from simply ignoring the Articles of impeachment OR taking a simple majority vote (51%) to "officially delay the trial.

This is no longer within his control. He may still win a vote for removal because of the 2/3 threshold but it is a crap shoot because some senators who don't like Trump but don't want to go on record for removal may simply not show up. The rule is 2/3 of the senators who show up and vote.

It's win win for the Democrats regardless of what Mitch does. I thought I read though that he has said if the Senate send over articles of impeachment he has not choice but to move forward.
