We are killing men, women, children and journalists in Syria. Brown people and journalists, the people he hates most. Trump is wetting himself with glee. He is orgasmic with the deaths as he pulls our support for our allies.
Frankly, I have no words for his evil. He is doing this once more to line his pockets.
I can't even say the words aloud that I wish his fate to be.

(86,775 posts)his showing all his despot buddies that he can be just as despicable and evil. And that, for him, is even better than money. And perhaps that is what Erdogan convinced him of, membership in the dictators' club, you know he's been dying to join. We need to make sure he's soon dying to change his past.

Putin is getting everything he wants. He is destroying the US from within using a puppet. God this is horrible.

Never forget that the founders planned for a corrupt president owned by a foreign power. They did notcould notplan for a complicit Republican Senate, complicit Republican Supreme Court, complicit Republican billionaires who own both, and complicit rightwing media which keeps Republican voters behind the corrupt Republican President.
To fix the country the Republican Party must be destroyed.

By Assad and his Iran proxies coming to the aid of the Kurds, Iran now has its land bridge to the Golan Heights.

(28,342 posts)(fever topped at 105.1) or, when I could haul my carcass in, working. This has all been almost too horrible to imagine.
Whenever his end may come, I hope it isn't by the merciful and expeditious flash of some righteous fool's weapon - I hope it is something terrifying, unbearably painful, grinding and inevitable, like a hideous raging prion disease.
Oh, and if it could happen soon, that would be all the better.
Edited to add: Too much? I don' really care.

(58,785 posts)altruism, or empathy. I've read that, in addition to the 1 in 25 or so who lack a sense of guilt, others may have a vestigial form which allows them to feel danger from wrongdoing without the guilt. As you say, the horror and shame is that we've given this power to a fraction of a human being who is literally incapable of caring about anything but himself.
I feel sick also, Sheshe. And shame and guilt, though I usually refuse to. How must our people in the middle of it, now and in the past, feel?

(17,956 posts)He is incapable of caring about anyone but himself. People like him don't have one once of empathy. The pain of others simply doesn't register as long as they are good themselves. They are real monsters, capable of indescribable evil. I think I'm more ashamed of my country now than ever before.

I know it was a type of naivety for me to hope for anything less than the worst with him in office.

(36,281 posts)...that has little to do with our national defense. Military violence is our biggest export and business is booming. We will never make a clean break from alliances we should never have entered in the first place. We have entrenched ourselves in 70 years of cold war geopolitics and 40 years of aggression in the middle east. Getting free is going to be painful, but we have to do it. The current mess in Syria is a consequence of our invasion of Iraq to stoke the ego of another weak, lying republican president and the anti-Ba'athist policies we pursued there. We screwed up-- again. The list of alliances we came to regret is long. The mujahedin, the contras, and the ARVN for starters. All the result of trying to maintain global hegemony. Do you really want to talk about who is killing brown people around the world? Trump is only the latest iteration. We have to stop exporting arms and military violence.
