Trump is claiming that the impeachment inquiry isn't legitimate, and that's why he won't cooperate with it.
Of course we know that isn't the real reason, and that he's actually doing it to try to cover-up his criminal activities.
But what about the so-called general public (or political independents). Will they accept his excuse, or will they see it as an effort to hide something?

(24,445 posts)Seems to me that Trump refusing to cooperate with the Inquiry will not reflect well on him. Also, as far as "Independents" go, we keep hearing all of the time that we might lose them if Democrats "go too far" (which I have no idea what that would even mean), but what the hell is their threshold/tolerance for Trump's/GOP's obnoxious and disgusting behavior and why aren't the pundits ever "worried" about THAT?

The only thing that's important is that their cult remain dominant. Nothing, no matter how destructive or horrific, will shake them of that one imperative and they will defend it to the death.
They know what he's doing but as long as he has some cheesy excuse they will cheer and scream it as god's own truth.
