6. I keep going back to one big picture issue here

Ultimately, it is very possible that this could end up getting Turkey kicked out of NATO. At the very least, it will become a serious internal squabble.

And once again, the undermining of NATO becomes part of the narrative.

In real terms, I am not sure how much it matters. But I think having a majority muslim member in NATO is helpful to being a world player rather than just representing the Euro-White-Christian Countries.
