by a minister, of all people. So, I was fully aware of the fact checking available about this one.

The sand sculpture trash was also on my Facebook page, but I approached it wrong here on DU and admitted so. Now I know, thanks to DU, that the DNC and Obama had nothing to do with that sand sculpture.

I thought that was what you were alluding to.

As soon as the OP was posted, I searched for more info--and the results were swamped with RW sources. So I truly appreciated the difficulty you had in getting to the bottom of it.

It took some hunting through all the garbage to to find the CoC press release reported in SF and NC papers, and to determine that the sculpture wasn't sponsored by the party (and the one that was taken down wasn't the Obama sculpture).

Your OP posed legitimate questions which I also had, and the thread helped to bring out the truth. I wouldn't call that a bad OP, and my comment here was not meant as a negative or snide remark in any way.
