In a turbulent situations where there are many variables and lots of tension, it is vital to use diplomacy and detente as your first and foremost tool, leaving other options aside unless they BECOME absolutely necessary or your hand is forced.

Since this rogue pResident has other priorities based on self-interest and he has demonstrated that he is not tactful or resourceful in these matters, (boisterous manipulations are the opposite of what is needed) nor does he seem to yield to the professional advice that might be available, your concerns are justified.

Since that is rather obvious, we can just grit our teeth here and watch. I do think that the players in this game, (Russia, Turkey, etc.) have ulterior motives that might prevent a flashpoint situation, but reasonably, they should be avoided at all costs. The stakes are rather high.

out of Syria. So foolish trump, who failed to divest his business interests, makes a foreign policy decision based on his personal interests and not the country's and thus has doomed thousands of Kurdish allies to death at the hands of Erdogan's troops.

So Erdogan is now pleased, as is trump's puppet master, Putin.

The invasion of northern Syria by Turkish troops is going on now as I write.

trump is incompetent and unfit for office. Everywhere he goes chaos follows.

Three people have a lot to gain from this slaughter: Erdogan, Putin and Trump. I guess you know who gets what and the why of it.

Oh, and as an aside, ISIS gets to have a big resurgence and barrels of volatile fuel for their recruitment propaganda. This is going backwards and destroys the progress that was fought so hard for with so many lives lost. We put a lot into that, as well. Now, for what?

Meanwhile, our ally has been betrayed and this is a true travesty that has been committed.

This extremely bad decision needs to be hung around Chump's neck like the albatross that it is.

Even people who are relatively good at making logical predictions are finding it impossible because of the number of uncertainties in play all at the same time. We are really well along into unknown territory on many fronts.

This is a strategic goal of building the pipeline, but gangsters also send messages and that is a tragedy. They're going to brutalize the Kurdish people because the message they are trying to send to the world is that the US can't do anything to stop them no matter how far they go.

Tens of thousands will surely be slaughtered, maybe many times over.
