NH: Special election Tuesday to fill Epping state rep. seat
EPPING -- A special election Tuesday between Democrat Naomi Andrews and Republican Micahel Vose will determine who will fill Eppings vacant state representative seat.
The election will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Epping Middle School gym.
Vose and Andrews are running to replace former state Rep. Sean Morrison, who resigned from his seat over Memorial Day weekend.
Both candidates have deep roots in Epping, and both have scored respectable endorsements. Vose was endorsed by Gov. Chris Sununu and Andrews from her mentor, former U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.
The race is attracting attention, both candidates say, because its a bellwether for the national elections in 2020. Vose said he was always interested in politics, making an early run for Vermonts Legislature in the 1970s. He didnt win, and devoted the next several years to building up his career. After retiring in 2012 he decided to pursue my political dream in New Hampshire. He first ran for the New Hampshire House in 2014, was successful, and served two terms, but lost his seat to Democrat Mark Vallone in 2018.
