Netanyahu was told by the president to form a coalition, so he's the prime minister for now.


Their elections aren't anything like our's. They vote for parties. There are a bunch of minor parties. Minor parties can shift their allegiance. The end result will be depend on whether one particular party chooses to form a coalition with Likud.

The Arab party, which came in 3rd place was pushed aside and aren't a part of the coalition building. This left the more liberal bloc with one less political party in their coalition. If the Blue and White party formed a coalition with the Arabs, other parties were threatening to leave the liberal coalition and side with Likud. (Something like that) The liberal bloc is not very liberal!!!
