General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI used to post links
from RawStory on here, until started seeing they just post click bait with no confirmation, only unnamed sources, and half visible links if you watch and go through the "video thing". Now I know and have learned, Im still kind of noob,,, when I post my thoughts to other websites,,copied and pasted from here,,ummm,, they seem to carry a lot more weight.this site rocks,,because of the posters, who can calmly talk back and forth. I no longer post RS links,,I am 58 yo and still acceptable to my open mind. I learn every day.

(102,279 posts)Rawstory usually indicates where they got it from so it is only a couple of extra steps. WAPO and other leading newspapers need the clicks if they are to continue--even if you can't afford to subscribe.

Once you see their hyperlinks, with chosen words or phrases, or capture the source at the top, above the lede, you can route directly to the sourced article. Granted, they often have writers who struggle with composing the story rewrites, but I think that has to do with trying to be the first aggregator on the block to post the articles.

(58,656 posts)There are several sites like that. Mostly they are just clickbait for all the ads and links, with reconstituted articles from real news sources. I don't click on them very often. Occasionally, but not often. Usually, I find that someone here will eventually provide the link to the original article later in the thread.
I try to do my small part to try to tamp down the virulence on the web.

(70,695 posts)That's why I also avoid clips of PAINTER, TRIBE, (somebody I can't think of right now). HuffPo has some kind of little hysterical edge on it that I look at occasionally when I want to get perked up.

d's to fight and vote,,not just respond,,, bash as you feel necessary,,i already proved my point,,, read short post, snips and react online,it is so easy,,until trump got elected. Read my past posts if you will,,everyone NOW has tools to know truth that I didn't have in Nixon,,or even 9/11 at that point,,now its all about "snips" and reacting..when you react to snips,,you are not reacting to the whole story, you are reacting to a PORTION of the truth! Your generation has the TOOLS,,use them,,,FULLY
