The real challenge is getting white voters to stop voting for Republicans, nationally and in each state.

And it's far too early to declare victory in Wisconsin. With a gerrymandered map and racism, xenophobia, and sexism increasingly played to by the Republican majority, the degree of difficulty for sustained Democratic wins is quite high.

The top of the ticket matters too with the level of coattails in a state like this one. A top-notch campaign for the presidency with vision, energy, and nimbleness makes the job of electing Democrats statewide a lot easier. We need to learn all the possible lessons from 2016 and avoid assumptions and strategy that are not based on current conditions.

If you have concerns about WI in 2020, donating to the state Democratic party is a good move. There's a new director of the state party that is a great coalition builder and strategist, IMO.
