His treatment of Senator Johnson's whataboutism brings me personal pleasure of.course. They are all feverishly spinning this conspiracy crap.
We want journalists to call them out but do Republican hacks convert anyone? Or are they reaching only their base? Conversely does Chuck Todd take Ron Johnson down by making him look like an idiot? I mean we all know already that he is an idiot, right?
This goes back to my theme of late, that 2020 is all about us. We need to work on ourselves. We will convert zero cult followers.
I get pushback here at DU for that theme. People take offense at VOTE DEMOCRATIC when no offense is intended. What is wrong with focusing on our own strengths? What is offensive about simplicity? If we vote. we win.

(15,238 posts)The toad usually promotes bothsideism. It just happened today to rub him wrong. Give him time to revert.
I am trying to find the significance, if any. And too I certainly don't want to have to rely on any purveyor of bothsideism.

(10,721 posts)And I fully agree that we aren't going to convert anyone from Cult 45.
But "If we vote, we win" is just too simplistic. It suggests that if we don't win, it must simply be because we didn't vote. That then excuses gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc.
Cary
(11,746 posts)The point is simplicity. The goal is for WE, THE PEOPLE to vote. I don't see why you need it to be more complicated.
Think Occam's Razor. There will be plenty of time for complications after we win.

(10,721 posts)But if you can show me where someone on DU was offended by "VOTE DEMOCRATIC," I'm open to seeing the evidence.
The complexity has to do with, as I mentioned, things like gerrymandering and voter suppression. And our tyranny of the minority system (an example being the electoral college). Those are realities that we need to struggle against, that we need to raise hell about. We shouldn't excuse those things by suggesting, "If we don't win, it's because we didn't vote."

(11,746 posts)Nor do I see the reason you cite as an excuse for being obnoxious. It is not the only instance of these particular being rude and obnoxious.
I am entitled to my opinion. One can disagree without being a troll

(113,063 posts)Lets increase our voters by appealing to the millions of new voters who will be voting for president for the first time. There are millions more of them than are persuadable Trump voters.
