A Tale of Two (fucked up) Countries
The United Kingdom versus the United States. Trump V Brexit. In less than FOUR YEARS our nations are unrecognisable. Which has been worse? It is a close call.
In the left corner sits the world’s last superpower. With a head of state who is seemingly not capable of loyalty to his own country.
In the right corner since post Empire superpower wannabee. With a head of state who has not been elected but thinks he has the right to ever change our constitution to fit in with the far-right dream of a deregulated world.
So in one corner we have a head of state who was duly elected by a bunch of far right nasty, in a general election… in the other corner a leader who was duly elected by a tiny proportion of the population, the vast majority of whom are demonstrably male, pale and stale.
Other than that..
They are both self-serving liars without a shred of irony, shame or sincerity.
They are both unconcerned about the impact of their policies on jobs, healthcare, food and environmental safety standards, employment protection or human rights on our communities.
They are both leaders of cults. The Trump Cult and the Brexit Cult. They are both extraordinary manipulators of the credulous and the fearful.
How quickly things can fall apart.
We need to find a pathway to lance these particular boils...
