So, What Can We Do Right Now to Help Move Things Forward?

In many ways, not much. We can communicate with our federal representatives, and we should do that, without question. Whether your House member and Senators are Democrats or Republicans, you should let them know your concerns and opinions about current issues, including impeachment. Your input will be tallied, at least, but only if you provide it. Otherwise it will go unheard.

Things will proceed as they proceed, though. The wheels of government move imperceptibly most of the time. They are moving, but so slowly that it can be hard to detect their motion. The inertia of federal government is immense.

In the meantime, though, there is much that can be done. Regardless of the current investigations and hearings, we are still moving toward primary elections next year, and a general election to follow. Even in 2019, there are elections in November for many state and local offices. If you're itching to be part of the change that needs to come, those are the events you should be looking at.

What elections will there be in your city, districts, and state this year? Who is running? How can you help? Local races are always the feeders for future statewide and federal candidates down the road. We need to pay attention to every election race, no matter how insignificant it might seem. Even local school boards, which often feed candidates for city and county government and state legislative offices.

And, of course, there are next year's Presidential and Congressional races. The time is fast approaching for the first of the primaries and caucuses. Have you volunteered to help your favorite candiddates yet? Are you getting active in your local Democratic Party organization? Is help needed for voter registration and GOTV? Do you want to be a delegate to your district and state conventions? Now is when you should start working toward those goals.

There's much to do and not much time in which to do it. Instead of worrying about the day-to-day progress of the impeachment inquiries, why not think about things you can affect as an individual? Keep communicating with your House and Senate representatives, but get busy on things that are coming up. Few of us will have any direct impact on a possible impeachment, but we can all have an effect on our local elections, this year and next. It is a small effect, to be sure, but it all adds up.

Just saying...

in ones local Caucus's as well as staying aware of events. This Impeachment might take another 12-14 months the way new revelations keep popping up.

even if it takes until some time in 2021. No more running out the clock,or giving Amnesty to those after a Administration Change .

Our Nation needs to reestablish the Rule Of Law.
