This weekend I have been rewatching the series John Adams.

1. Are you talking about the HBO series from a few years back?

That's the one I'm familiar with, but perhaps there's another. It was a good show, and Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney were great on it.

It reminds of what honor looks like.

3. There are some inaccuracies, but by and large, it's an excellent series.

One thing I thought was interesting was how many characters, notably John Dickenson, spoke in a hard-to-identify accent. It's a reminder that we don't really know how they sounded back then, and that accents change over time.

4. I read the book, it was outstanding.

It gave you a very realistic view of how people lived back then. We are wimps compared to them.
