1. Taking back the Senate is probably a pipedream (at this minute). https://www.270towin.com/2020-senate-election/
has it at 50 R/46 D with 4 tossups. But that's a result of the Founding Fathers compromising to let have small states (originally "not VA or MA", now mainly "flyover country" to have their say.
2. The only route that I can see for impeachment to result in removal ((absent new and even more shocking evidence)) is for the Senate to not be able to consider removal until after primary season is ((at least mainly)) over.
3. So vote Blue in November 2020. It may not work on the Senate, but on Thump??

(18,770 posts)It's so bad the Senate Repugs might not have a choice BUT to convict, if anything, for their survival in the Senate.

(11,631 posts)I have zero confidence in republicans to do the right thing but I'm thinking at some point McConnell sends a signal to cut bait and the end comes almost overnight.

(10,721 posts)Since it's highly unlikely Schiff and Co. will get the records they've requested or hear from most of those they've subpoenaed, I can only hope more whistleblowers come forward with even more damaging information than we've already heard.
And it's vital that Dems keep control of the narrative, so that public support for impeachment and removal will continue to rise.
