Right now, there is another future mass shooter stockpiling ammo or writing their crazy manifesto...

And instead of looking at what future Dylann Roof or Nikolas Cruz is doing in their room, I can guarantee their parents are probably passing around memes saying AOC or Ilhan Omar are the real enemies or that Muslims are coming to kill everyone.

Welcome to Trump's America.

There is a lot more to the culture that contributes to that phenomena and it is a deeper, sociological issue.

And yes, there are many potential candidates for that kind of effect. It is not a superficial matter and there are people who are studying the factors that are involved. More research online reveals a spectrum of "types" and also professionals and people who have taken the time to try to understand what's going on. Jordan Peterson one example.

The reason I bring that up is that to treat it lightly or politically is the opposite of what really needs to be done because, well, the men in the typical age group are potentially in our lives, not out there somewhere. They can be in your home, next door and down the street, etc. There are several, cultural issues that not only foment this, but make them more vulnerable to radicalization, etc.

Having said that, and considering that a lot of their communication takes place online and that they are not necessarily obvious as one might imagine, turning a blind eye or ignoring the problem or castigating them further as a stereo-typical group is really only going to add to the problem and will exacerbate what is fueling it; a problem we all want to investigate and solve for very good reasons.

The best anybody can do is find out more before making a judgement because biases and criticism is counter-productive and this has nothing at all to do with condoning certain behavior or de-emphasizing the sheer horror of mass shootings and their impact on our society. It is about preventing them.
