M$NBComcast said the deceased are Hispanic males. Not sure if everyone shot was Hispanic but this looks like a hate crime.

(35,317 posts)It confirms what we always knew, so of course it's true. Oddly, the faster and higher we jump, the more panache we seem to have.
It costs nothing but patience and self-discipline to say, "Gee, let's wait for the fact before we assert what the fact must be. Esp. when that fact will be discovered and made clear and not jumping to the conclusion might save me from eating crow."
When it's put in terms of banal self-interest, the principle is much more palatable. It's like when I tell my students to save energy to reduce carbon emissions. I get pushback. "But you pay for the gas and electricity, so it can save you $600 to $1000 a year when you start paying the bills." "Oh, why didn't you say so?"
Still, crow is in season and when served lightly braised in white wine with a nice chervil-garlic sauce and chanterelles is actually quite trendy. Meanwhile, patience and self-discipline are sort of like a low-salt meal of plain baked farm-raised flounder served with non-fat stewed winter wheat berries and steamed Brussels sprouts, all organic and coming in at 800 calories. It may be good for you but it inspires no envy or joy.

I remember so many of these conclusion-jumping posts. Theres one going on right now with many on board.
I just bookmark them now, always curious to see if the many conclusion-jumpers will come back and correct their misperceptions.
They rarely do.
