Why are we conducting the impeachment inquiry behind closed doors?

Why is all the testimony being taken in secret? Usually, even in depositions, there is a video. Wouldn't it make for a blockbuster TV presentation and epic meltdown for Dotard hourly on twitter to do it publically, as he rages about 'asses' in vulgar profanity, rather than in secret? Just go closed-doors if any national security issues arise.

from the Investigation Committees.

I had no set opinion on this but was curious as to why it was being done. Did not realize at all this was the Watergate model! That’s sweet to know!
