local "Hooch 'n More" liquor store and, like he says, he's got his "finger on the pulse of Murika". He sees dozens of folks each day and hears the opinions of a real cross-section of the population. Hell, he says one of the drivers who delivers beer is even a black. So Duane's analysis is always worth hearing.
"There are NO grounds for the impeachment of our president!" Duane told me. "I have read every word of the whistleblower complaint AND the word-for-word transcript of Mr. Trump's phone call to this Zee-linski dude and the words "quid pro quo"---whatever the hell that means--- were never said by ANYBODY!"
Well, I can tell you I was stunned. If you're like me, you kinda tend to believe all this stuff being said on TV about there being "clear grounds for impeachment", but Duane says that's all deepstate BULLSHIT and he says that's a di-rect quote of Mr. Trump. That Duane! I swear ---one of these days we're gonna flip on the radio expecting to hear that Limbaugh guy and instead, we're gonna hear old Duane! The man is THAT good!
That's it for now. Just thought I'd share another of ol' Duane's "insights". That's what he calls what he says---"insights"! Is that a hoot or what?
(Only bad part of my shopping trip to "Hooch 'n More" is they were out of Slim Jims!)
Later.
(EDIT: The above was an attempt at satire---fiction. Sorry if not evident)

(102,298 posts)I am determined to be civil with people that think that way--not engage them because I recall reading what it takes to "deprogram" cultists. Still, it affects me nonetheless.

I would have "customers" (wouldn't even buy anything) that would pontificate for

I know duane. Duane doesn't read. He listens to the tee-vee man (only stares at the "seat covers" as he calls them) and rahdeo.
Oh, and he keeps the slim jims up his butt so they stay nice and warm, just they he likes em.

(42,770 posts)Is to act with confusion vs disagreement/contention. It doesn't put people on defensive.
Like, " Gee Duane! I did the same thing! I didn't see those fancy words either. So I looked em up. It means if you do something for me I will do something for you. Then I saw that trump asked him to dig up dirt or make it up, not sure, about Joe Biden and his kid. Then he said they wouldn't get US aid unless they did. So now I am confused Duane, sure does sound like quid pro quo, doesn't it? "
