Brexit : Bonnie Greer says 'Ireland owes the UK nothing' in heated Brexit debate on BBC

AUTHOR AND JOURNALIST Bonnie Greer has said Ireland owes nothing to the UK, during a TV debate about Brexit.
Speaking on BBC Question Time last night, Greer also said that the United States would not do any type of trade deal with the UK that would damage its long-standing relationship with Ireland.

“Oftentimes, I hear people talking about Ireland as if this country owns Ireland.
“Ireland owes this country nothing. Ireland owes this country no concessions, it owes it no quarter, it owes it nothing,” Greer said.

She added: “The United States is Irish. If anybody thinks that they’re going to get a deal through and have a trade relationship with the United States that shafts Ireland, you’ve got another thing coming. It’s not going to happen, it’s not going to happen.
I’m from Chicago, that’s where I was born, and you know what we do on St Patrick’s Day? We dye the river green. People are very serious about Ireland in the United States – don’t mess with it, don’t make it look bad.

“The Good Friday Agreement, in spite of its rather benign name, the Good Friday Agreement is a truce.
“And it’s a truce because the United States of America and the EU sat down with this country to make it happen. We have to be much more serious about this,” Greer said, to applause from the audience.

Trump will continue to follow the orders of his Russian Master, and Putin wants Brexit. And if that means a return to the bad old days in Ireland, so much the better.

Full access to a trading bloc of about 350 million.

If the UK leaves the EU, Scotland will become independent and Northern Ireland will start unification talks.

Brexit is the UK’s death warrant.

(specifically) the English people are, and a realisation of where they are in the world now. The empire is long gone, but the people have been fed an Empire narrative for too long.

Especially if Scotland and Northern Ireland leave the UK.

They will leave because there is more power in being a part of the Franco-German alliance, aka the EU.

them to have Leave Referendums. The gang like Johnson/Mogg etc have been completely condescending to the Irish and Scottish, and are likely to be equally dismissive if Brexit happens.

The GFA gave Catholic Northern Irelanders access to Catholic Irish culture but kept them in the UK. A large number of NI are Protestant, virulent Protestants.

prior to being admitted to the EU and becoming the English speaking conduit for the block. If the UK Brexits, Ireland becomes that English speaking conduit, that is likely why Trump, Johnson and their band of thugs are looking at Ireland.

Boston and NYC also have large Irish populations they are proud of. They will not be quiet about shafting Ireland.
