Trump & Trump Jr yuk it up over a fake "climate activist" at AOC town hall today

I hadn't seen this clip of C-SPAN video from AOC's town hall today until Trump commented on a tweet from his dimitted oldest son half an hour ago:

I checked out the video in the Ryan Saavedra tweet Trump Jr was commenting on.

Some quick googling showed that clip is all over RW media and forums, with the woman doing the raving at the town hall being called a "climate activist" and a constituent of AOC's.

I don't know if any identification was required for the town hall, but unless it was, I'd bet that woman is neither a constituent of AOC's nor anyone who's genuinely concerned about the planet and the climate crisis.

IMO that unidentified woman is obviously a RW troll, pretending to be concerned about the planet and about the Green New Deal not producing results fast enough, so she says we have to "eat the babies." As she starts her fake hysterical raving, she removes her jacked to show a t-shirt printed with the words "Eat The Children."

And she's speaking with a fake Swedish accent.

This is RW mockery of Greta Thunberg, and mockery of all climate activists.

And it was done to try to make AOC look bad as well.

And now Trump has tweeted to call attention to it.

So I thought I'd better debunk it here.

Editing to add that AOC apparently thought the raving showed someone having a genuine breakdown. I don't think so. Struck me as completely fake, especially with the accent:

I just skimmed the replies to her tweet and saw I'm not the only one who believes that "meltdown" was fake.

for the Trumpons to use this to make their pecksniffian points.

AOC's comment was spot on and should have ended the issue, but ratfucking Republicans just had to go and make a big deal out of it.

Besides, Wohl is busy accusing Warren of having a tawdry affair with male escort.

The president’s son had snarked that the unidentified woman, who had incoherently ranted at Ocasio-Cortez about the climate crisis, “seems like a normal AOC supporter to me.”

As the woman spoke, she took off her jacket, in what appeared to be a pre-planned move, to reveal a T-shirt that read “Save the Planet, Eat the Children.” AOC clearly grew increasingly concerned about the woman’s behavior during her bizarre rant, and after about 30 seconds, a staffer gently took the microphone away and escorted the woman out of the audience.

The video also showed others in attendance growing agitated and skeptical about the unknown woman’s remarks. And, notably, the slogan on the woman’s T-shirt directly invoked Jonathan Swift’s famous satirical piece A Modest Proposal, which called for eating the children of Ireland, suggesting this might be a ham-fisted political stunt or troll operation of some sort.

The Congresswoman, who never defended the woman’s absurd remarks, speculated that the woman might have been “suffering from a mental condition” and defended the woman from ridicule and mockery that she said right-wing supporter had been aiming at her online.

then she's really good at what she does. The only thing that leads me toward thinking it's some sort of performance art is the fact it was just so over the top and also having the shirt made up.

left when I went outside today. It was broiling hot! And it's October 3rd! I'm far from an activist but I had a brief feeling of... dread.
