(a) Prohibition
It shall be unlawful for
(1) a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make
(A) a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election;
(B) a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party; or
(C) an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication

(10,721 posts)I'm not sure why Democratic leadership didn't immediately hold a press conference today to say just that after Trump made his China comment.
"We witnessed yet again today the president commit an impeachable offense. Crimes committed out in the open are still crimes. The president is trying to fool the public into believing that if he admits to collusion then collusion must not be wrong. It is wrong. It is impeachable. And we are going to hold the president accountable. We will not allow him to normalize his criminality. We'll now take a few questions."
Simple as that. Control the narrative.
