to co-opt the christian conservative vote. Pence is the lapdog that came with the deal, supporting Trump for an abortion ban.

Pence may be an ideologue but at the end of the day he is more about wealth than "salvation". He has the persona of a "goody two shoes" Christian, but he is bought and sold, and as corrupt as Trump is. Pence was basically broke going into the 2016 election. He was a failed governor of Indiana and was a conservative radio host. He had something like 15,000 in the bank when he got tapped to be VP. He jumped right in and worked to get Russian help in 2016 but because he is quiet and in the background, Trump got all of the attention.

Pence is a hater and a grifter more than anything.
