Trump tweet, minutes ago: I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate CORRUPTION

As the President of the United States, I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate, or have investigated, CORRUPTION, and that would include asking, or suggesting, other Countries to help us out!

It is actually kinda scary. He is amping up that 24% of the country whose ancestors also supported Nixon AFTER his impeachment vote and resignation.

It is a reptilian remnant psychological impairment that affects 1/3 to 1/4 of the citizens in almost all societies in the world.

Even the office of the President has NO absolute right whatsoever. He has rights as a citizen like the rest of us and certain powers, as defined by the Constitution are afforded to him order that he can carry out his oath of office.

That was a bad move, again. Using that word was another indication of an inclination to be a dictator.

So, no! Of course, then there are the other facts about that statement...

Note that he puts ABSOLUTE first, then adds duty as a seemingly optional aside.

So, he may be indicating what he takes to be his priorities. The more you analyze him, even speculatively, the more you know.

He has duties and they are clearly defined, but his rights are not absolute. He is not fulfilling those duties faithfully or to the letter in many ways and he seems to be saying they are not a priority to him, but an option he can use at will, maybe.

Thu Oct 3, 2019, 09:32 PM
Oct 2019

...

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act is the jewel in the crown of America’s fight against international business bribes and corporate favors. Intended to promote American business and foreign-policy ideals around the world, and give US companies a tool to battle corruption abroad, it has also helped other countries crack down on bribery, and has extracted billions of dollars in fines.

snip

They have cause for their concern. Trump has dubbed the FCPA a “horrible law” that stifles American businesses trying to work abroad. “It puts us at a huge disadvantage,” he told CNBC in 2012. As president, he has killed a rule to crack down on foreign bribery by US energy companies, refused to release his tax returns, and canceled ethics training for White House staff.

Dems should not only keep repeating that it's wrong but also make it clear to the population that this is a tactic. Trump is trying to normalize his criminal activity so that support for impeachment won't keep rising. This is so fucking obvious.

He is not trying to self-impeach. He's trying to control the narrative. Schiff, Pelosi and every Dem who makes a public appearance should make the point that this is a tactic and that people shouldn't fall for it. Otherwise, people will fall for it. Do not underestimate the gullibility and ignorance of the American people.

Dems should make that clear. Not just point out that what he's doing is wrong but make it clear to the American public that Republicans are employing a strategy in hopes that enough people will accept Trump's criminality as perfectly acceptable.

...missed an obvious opportunity today to hold a press conference stating, "The president just committed an impeachable offense on live television." It's not enough for surrogates and media personalities to do that in tweets or on daytime talk shows. We need an immediate, public response from Dem. leadership.

A tweet from Hillary Clinton does not suffice. We need Pelosi and Schiff in front of cameras on these occasions.

To paraphrase Clinton's tweet, "crimes committed openly are still crimes." That's such a simple message and we need to hear Democratic leadership give that message over and over and over again. Hold a press conference every damn day. Twice a day if necessary.

Control the narrative. Control the narrative. Control the narrative. Or else Trump will.

It crosses so many lines that it is not funny. The President is not allowed to ask other countries to
interfere in our elections. End of story.

Some editing:

As a citizen of the United States I have the absolute right perhaps even a duty to rob a bank, or banks, or to be a crook. That might also include asking for help from other countries in my criminal endeavors.

Commas just put 'em anyplace. Any english grammar nerds out there? His sentence here is not a sentence but it is a
God only knows mash up of gibberish. Try reading out loud.

As the President of the United States, I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate, or have investigated, CORRUPTION, and that would include asking, or suggesting, other Countries to help us out!

he says the FBI is filled with democrats, they're not! Then he tried to say the whistleblower is partisan but that's a hard argument to make when no one knows who the whistleblower is! How can anyone know they're partisan if we don't even know who they are?

I think that's the thing that really drives him crazy!! Normally in a situation like this he would fire off 40 or 50 tweets saying how they're biased against him or other insulting things! It makes him nuts when he can't do that with an anonymous person!

He is implying that he WILL NOT WORK WITH A CORRUPT FOREIGN GOVERNMENT (when his own government is the most corrupt collection of US treasonous bastards ever assembled).

Use his usual projection. He is actually saying just the opposite.

He has NO INTEREST IN A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT THAT IS NOT CORRUPT.

They MUST be corrupt to work with him, and pander to his every whim. And Zelensky failed the test. He DID NOT put out a statement written by Volker (of the US) and Sondland (of the EU) that would commit him to investigating Biden.

Yet the turd is screaming about how he MUST investigate corruption.

Irony, indeed. With enough left over to build at least 100 miles of his precious, impenetrable wall...
