Do you remember what the Republicans did once Democrats got too close to drafting Obamacare?

They derided the whole process as partisan and demanded that the Democrats throw everything they have done into the trash and start from scratch... by working with Republicans on a bipartisan idea.

Or do you remember President Obama's very first meeting with republican policy-makers? They thought, they could use the recession to talk Obama into some sort of bipartisan government, where the Republicans would still have their say in everything. And then the Republicans got seriously pissed when Obama said No to their offer that he share his power with them.

Now Trump is being impeached, and what does McCarthy demand? A return to the bipartisan congressional subpoena-procedures that the Republicans got rid off in 2015 to better attack Hillary.

“…to issue subpoenas without consulting the minority party”

Republicans suddenly hate the subpoena-powers that they themselves gave to Congress in 2015.

House Republicans changed the rules in 2015 to allow many of their committee chairmen to issue subpoenas without consulting the minority party, overriding Democrats objections that likened the tactic to something out of the McCarthy era.

"without consulting the minority party"

These two articles should be twinned.
