Preet Bharara: You know who got an even EARLIER account of whistleblower's allegations - THE WH!

Preet Bharara

@PreetBharara
You know who got an even EARLIER account? The White House — whose occupant is the subject of the whistleblower’s allegations.

Recap: Early on the Whistleblower first went to the CIA’s General Counsel with their complaint before they went to the IG. The CIA GC, almost immediately took the info - TO THE WH - and when the WB was made aware of that, they then filed a formal complaint with the IG.

EXACTLY:
"The [whistleblower] first had a colleague take his concerns--in vague form--to the CIA’s general counsel, Courtney Simmons Elwood, who began a preliminary inquiry by contacting a deputy White House counsel, alerting the White House that complaints were coming from the CIA."

was made aware of the whistleblower (in person?)
and took the info to Schiff ( who doesn't know the WB's ID )

so Schiff had the gist or summary or suspicion of the activity, and when the WB came forward knew to act on it quickly ...

or that's my read on it

✌🏼

But I'm okay with it, so long as it's Pence's time in the hotseat.
