She deserved more... but as an "ex-cop" I wonder how well she'll fare in prison.

in figuring out how she can atone for her crime while helping her fellow inmates become better people themselves. A life in service to others should be the minimum expected once she gets out.

This is an absolutely needless and senseless loss because she wasn't paying attention and tragically reacted with use of deadly force. She carelessly took a young man's promising life away while robbing his family and friends of future companionship.

I understand fully why some are screaming for 40 years to life. She killed him but no one can claim she "planned" his murder. She is a feckless boob and a racist who killed. I think the court got it right. If she leaves prison never allowed to be an officer again or hold a gun it is enough.
