I've always thought that the Russian "oligarchs" money laundered to the Us is behind the repugs

After the fall of the Soviet Union the previously state owned industries were raped and parceled out by these folks. The company my brother used to work for was an example. I could see the company was foundering but suddenly some oligarch injected $600 million and saved them. At least temporarily. The guy had no knowledge of that industry and the place went under about a year later but it seemed obvious to me he was just looking for a place to dump some money. As it turned out he was the guy who parked his jet next to Trumps at some Caribbean island. Don’t remember the details but if you were paying attention back then you remember hearing about it. My theory is the repugs and their constituents all made bank of these types of shady transactions and don’t want the truth to come out. Especially Trump, who failed at everything and couldn’t get any money from any US banks.

Thanks for posting this. You might like Craig Unger's book "House of Putin, House of Trump." There is much evidence in that book to support your suspicions. Republicans also accepted money straightaway to their campaigns and now, it appears, by having it funnelled through the NRA and other organizations.

But IMO the really big bucks come through money laundering.
