goons have a clue about the seriousness of these proceedings and the amount of trouble they face?
Do they think they can lie their way out of these constitutional violations and crimes (high and low)?
Once Pompeo confessed to being in on the phone call, he has no say in matters State Department - he is now a witness to the shakedown.

So far, he is correct. I sincerely hope that changes.

(10,252 posts)I look at it from a Buddhist perspective, which considers delusion and ignorance about how things really exist as an afflictive mental state that keeps us mired in suffering. There is some dreadful and horrible evil operating in their minds. What must they tell themselves to keep that behavior ongoing? What must the guards at Nazi death camps or Cambodian death camps or stalinist gulags have trold themselves to keep showing up for work every day?

(22,483 posts)to what their orders were to be. I feel like that is somewhat comforting as it implies that those men probably had tendencies but were also kind of "made". It makes me think that in general most people would not do such things unless influenced by others.

(1,850 posts)No. They have no clue or awareness of the seriousness of the proceedings, or the amount of trouble they face. OR the fact that they have done anything wrong or behaved inappropriately. They are bullies and/or cons, clueless and/or evil, doing what they do and have always done.
Yes. They are all bullies. They think they can lie and coerce and strongarm their way out of their crimes, or constitutional violations. They are doing what they've always done.
And it's ironic and warped that they claim to be constitutionalists! They advocate for the parts that support their views, and ignore or misinterpret the parts they don't like or agree with.
Starting with Emoluments.
