Whistleblower alleges 'inappropriate efforts' to influence Trump tax audit

Last edited Wed Oct 2, 2019, 01:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Another whistleblower has come forward, this time alleging 'inappropriate efforts' to influence Trump's tax audit

https://www.businessinsider.com/whistleblower-alleges-inappropriate-action-over-trump-taxe-returns-2019-10

Another whistleblower complaint has been lodged, this one alleging that there were "inappropriate efforts to influence" the mandatory audit of the Trump and Vice President Mike Pence's tax returns by the Internal Revenue Service.

In an August 8 letter, written by House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Neal says that his committee received "credible allegations of 'evidence of possible misconduct'" from a federal employee in July.

Though the president is not required by law to release their tax returns, every president has voluntarily released their tax returns or a tax summary since 1974 - except Trump.

Trump is also at the center of another whistleblower complaint, lodged in August, alleging that he repeatedly solicited foreign interference in the 2020 election from Ukraine. That complaint is the catalyst that sparked a formal House impeachment inquiry into the president.

I believe the president's tax returns are required to be audited by the IRS to insure there aren't any outside influences affecting the president's judgment.

That would likely be the reason Trump would ty to prevent an audit.

all the time.

Fighting, fighting, fighting. All the time he’s gotta be fighting about something or other. There’s something psychologically VERY bent going on below the surface there.

Too bad donald didn’t actually serve in the military on the front lines of a hot war. Maybe he would have gotten this constant fighting thing out of his system.

Because more will be coming out to expose these criminals corrupting OUR government, and show they're actively trying to cover it up. This will make them either turn on trump and talk reducing their consequences, or face going to prison for trump. I bet they'll turn on him knowing they will all be exposed.

the reason it's back in the news now is because Rep. Neal is considering releasing the Whistleblower's complaint to the public

But it was being investigated quietly and not made public. When I saw your headline I thought yet another one had come forward!

Not that the order matters, but I had read that there was another whistle blower in a different area, soon after the phone whistle blower came out.

Others may not be aware that there a 2 separate reports of unscrupulous/illegal behavior.

I'm expecting and waiting for more whistle blowers to sound out to protect our country.

see my post above - this whistleblower was also from July and there were stories in August about it. It's back in the news because Neal is debating about making it public

I knew the whistle blower was a prior one. Was being circumspect in my title. And I started to reply before your 2nd post indicated it was from August.

I didn't want to call you out on semantics, but your headline was misleading.
I might have said "another whistleblower was filed before the Ukraine one" or "a prior whistleblower complaint was made but not publicised"

Again, your initial headline made me think there was a 3rd, which I'm waiting for.
I was disappointed it was the one I already knew about. No hard feelings!

This prior complaint should absolutely be publicized!
