Saddam Hussein wanted people to believe he had WMD's and would use them to defend his regime.

It's kinda hard to be a strongman while only possessing an unloaded side arm.

2. U.N. made about 100 inspections to test claims of wmd, zero confirmations

Bush claimed they honestly believed reports of wmd fed to them by Iraqis. The CIA had U.N. inspectors check them out. Zero inspections confirmed the claims. Bush and company knew it was a pack of lies.

Iraq was not a US colony. It is stunning to watch people so upset about what Russia is doing to the US while several US governments have done much worse to other so called sovereign countries.

There is a disconnect here - you cannot believe in democracy at home while supporting your own governments as they undermine democracy across the globe.
