Isn't it just about time for the congressional committee to cut to the chase and subpoena or otherwise demand said Server?
So they issued a "do not destroy" order...but really, shouldn't they have it in their possession by now?
We saw raids on offices, etc for these other crooks...why NOT the WH?

(15,303 posts)"It" doesn't really exist in any physical embodiment of chassis/power/cpu/disk/etc. It is likely vitualized and containerized and compartmentalized and distributed and clustered. The operative bits may be here or there. They may be RAIDed and striped and subject to encoding/decoding.
A "server" could be in a USB drive (yes, they have software), in your phone or idiot's i-thing. It could actually be in the kremlin or with the norks. Copies of said server are probably spread throughout most of the IC in most countries as well as many other crime syndicates.
Amazon, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, and everyone else are angling to be the providers of headless "servers". Virtual desktops so people will think there is actually a "thing" on the other end of the "wire".

(9,247 posts)..since those documents in question are not classified (and are not supposed to be on that virtual machine or cloud storage system), they can and should be subpoenaed. It's the data they need. They can get very specific about what documents they want to see for impeachment.
