Notice how many ALL CAPS tweets hes made the last few days?
He really is pissed and scared.
Classic case of a narcissist lashing out in his last days

(12,712 posts)When Trump/Manson is unable to utilize his obvious tactics anymore, that's when I will consider him potentially crazy or losing it.
The problem, for me, is that when you frame his actions as insanity, (though it may seem so to rational people) it is diffusing the malignant manipulation he has been skilled at for all of his adult? life and that distracts from the processes he uses. It even suggests a subtle excuse. I can't attribute the Mansonesque machinations he is playing out to sheer insanity in the conventional sense of the word. I can go with mental disorder, but it's not the same. His syndromes have been functional and worked well so far.
Yes, we are getting closer to his actual breakdown, but it is sheer sleezy salesman pitches and threats to his mobster mentality, (just think of all the screwing of so many people for decades) that are still being plied tactically. When he can no longer do that in a way that sways opinion and infests the system, then I would concede and call it insanity. Otherwise, it is still business as usual for the Don of Screwing.
All in all, he is playing us and our country in the key of FU.

(16,616 posts)I agree that what we're seeing is not "insanity" per se. But it does seem like he's desperately lashing out with his tired, worn out greatest hits and that they are not having the usual effect, and that is creating a feedback loop where his lashing out becomes increasingly ridiculous. For example, you have reporters who rarely stood up to this in the past beginning to get angry with the charade. Fox News is having an increasing number of outbursts among hosts. The people within the inner circle seem to be turning on each other. So rather than say he is insane or anything like that, I would say he is a malignant narcissist in what looks like his last days. But perhaps that is too optimistic.

(12,712 posts)You added some meat to the bone there.
That does illustrate it well. I see you have been observant.
Yes, one could say the stress is obviously "breaking him down", I guess. It is inflaming him and exaggerating his syndromes for sure and that could get very bad.
On one hand, it is good because he can make more mistakes and damage any remaining credulity he might have, (with some people) and that can assist in his downfall. He may become his own worst enemy if this keeps up.
On the other hand, well, nuclear codes and the football, and all the rest. Until we lose this loser, we are going along for the ride, collectively. Whew!
Thanks for your input.

(53,342 posts)He knows exactly what hes doing. He may need reading glasses which would explain a LOT of his mistakes reading a TelePrompter
But his tweets are getting more and more frustrated and more name calling and projecting
Hes scared and frustrated that the level of loyalty to him personally is dissolving. His entire persona is based upon fealty

(16,616 posts)It's doubtful he's sleeping much, and when you toss sleep deprivation together with unrestrained rage, fighting for your political life, and spewing Russian talking points you actually believe, anything becomes possible. As you say, there is a sense of finality, like a soldier loading up his gun with already-spent cartridges. I keep thinking of the last twenty minutes of Oliver Stone's Scarface.
