Remember the Anonymous Letter to the NYT?
That letter was fascinating, as were the theories that came out about it at the time. Could it be relevant now that the White House is in undeniable crisis?
Some questions and thoughts going through my mind this morning:
Do you think it really was by the representative of a group (as opposed to an individual pretending to represent a group) and, more to the point, does that group still exist within the WH?
Or was it written by someone or some small group of people who are no longer there? (i.e., John Bolton, Mattis, Haley, Don McGahn, etc.?)
If it was written by someone no longer there, would we likely know who the author was by now?
If they are still there, this would be the best possible time for them to make a move of some kind. I'm not necessarily proposing they would "go public" in some dramatic spectacle, but they could leak like a sieve. The thrust of that letter is that they wanted us to believe there were "good guys" in the White House. It seemed to me like they wanted cover in the future from being held responsible for the criminal acts being perpetrated by Trump. Their position will become increasingly untenable if they remain yoked to this administration. It seems to me like this is the time for them to manifest in one form or another.
