that person would have intervened with Trump or Giuliani by now. Both have shown themselves to be unstable mentally on TV. Both appear to not be rational. If I cared about someone, I would try to keep them from embarrassing themselves in public, repeatedly.
Clearly there is no actual human concern, no real emotional attachment to either of them.

(12,265 posts)Their families are just waiting for the inheritance. Both have been married numerous times and have bad relationships with their children.

(11,212 posts)IMO, the Trump offspring have consciously decided to sacrifice him in order to ride the gravy train as long as possible. If he's impeached, the Trump "empire" doesn't necessarily fall until later.

(38,439 posts)Perhaps his children, maybe his wife. More likely the "children" because they have known him a long time, and they know that he has broken down over all of this. Now let's suppose they have tried, but what would Trump say to his "Children" NO! (Trump might add," You are wrong about me..all wrong about me, I am ok, fit as a fiddle. "
...That is the end of that. The children of Donald Trump took a stand, and he said NO !! to his children...
.... And it was as strong a NO as can be imagined..What do you do when your father says that kind of strong NO?..And he has the job that he has.? I think that they have tried more than once, because he is "Dad"
No way to prove this. At least for a while. One more thought, I do think they care (somewhat) about their father, and the children know that Dad has lost it.....Actually, I think they know more than anyone. (maybe one exception to this --- his ex lawyer who is currently serving time in a prison knows that too. He already has tried to save himself and this country.

(52,307 posts)who says there aren't people around them trying to contain the damage or even trying to get them healthier somehow?
it's next to impossible to treat an unwilling patient.
doesn't mean people haven't tried.

(18,890 posts)Toxic, damaging ppl surround them, and their mental illnesses are on full view. They have no true friends or beneficial advisors.
I almost feel sorry for them,

(6,929 posts)They never say NO, it does no good. They do not want to get kicked off the gravy train or out of the will. I had a patient who had just had work done on an artery in his leg. He tried to get out of bed...bad idea, arteries bleed very badly when interrupted. I told him no and why. He looked me right in the eye and said "Young lady, people do not tell me NO". I assured him that we had him out numbered and could stop him. I also suggested that if he got up and bled to death that I would assure his family knew the whole story. He stayed but with constant supervision.

(11,212 posts)Any of them could have leaked concerns, asked others to help, signaled that Daddy was slipping, etc. That would have added to scrutiny and awareness of his faults and possibly slowed his momentum. None of that has happened, apparently.

(16,829 posts)They don't take advice, even from people who care about them. It would be a waste of anyone's time to try.

(58,698 posts)so, nobody will associate with them other than transactional types, who don't really do the 'empathy' thing.
They're the "what have you done for me? folks, so if someone goes down, they're on their own.

(31,011 posts)These people aren't. They either grew up in this kind of life or are so drunk with the power of their position, that they're too afraid to do the right thing.
Or they are just corrupt immoral human beings.
