Am I the only one here dissatisfied with today's developments?

"Impeachment inquiry" doesn't sound like "impeachment" to me.

1. THat's Because It Isn't

It comes before impeachment and you don't have one without the other

2. It's the absolute first step that leads to impeachment.

You can not have any impeachment without a formal inquiry.

3. It isn't impeachment. They have to investigate formerly first which will help educate the public

if the public takes issue and support for impeachment drops they may never impeach. There is no guarantee of impeachment even if the public agrees or disagrees....but right now they are moving forward to see if this is the right way to go. It could result in some other punishment.

4. "Impeachment"

occurs when the House votes to impeach i.e. sent the matter to the Senate for adjudication (after the inquiry is complete).

9. I don't think you have this type of impeachment inquiry if you don't plan on impeaching

10. Yes. I was hoping for a Select Committee headed by Schiff

I have been consistently impressed with his gravitas and understanding of the issues. As a former prosecutor, he really knows how to build a case.

Maybe it will yet happen.

11. Yes, you are. This is how getting to Articles of Impeachment begins.

To be fair, there may be a handful of people who share your view.

I suggest you fire up Google and seek out what an “Articles of Impeachment” document contains.

The Articles document is the work product of committees’ investigations. It will in explain, in detail, the reasoning behind the impeachment.

Then the house votes on the Articles. If there is a majority, then the Articles will be delivered to the Senate who will decide to vote on a holding a hearing.

14. I know, it's somewhat a rhetorical question ... there are just a couple of steps the rest of it ...

... can be defined by the party in control of the house.

They can do two cartwheels and a skip if they wanted to
