It's gotten tougher, but I still trust Pelosi to make the right call.

All we know right now about the Ukraine situation comes from news reports. And while it's almost guaranteed that the story is accurate (thanks, Rudy!!), you can't base an impeachment vote on news reports.

I think the Speaker knows that we'll ultimately get the full story from the whistleblower. She may also know by now if there are other bombshells that are going to drop. But until that all comes out directly, and not just through the media, I'm not sure we have much choice but to wait - because if we get it wrong it would be a disaster of epic proportions.

Now if everything comes out and she still resists impeachment, that's another story.

As dangerous as it is, Congress must do all it can to not only protect the identity of the person with a mask of some kind, large clothing, from reprisals from Trump and William Barr, to get the truth on the record. For Trump and Barr are that vengeful to even order not just the prosecution of, but possibly a political assassination of this person's reputation. Which is why the person hired a very High Powered Attorney who handles such cases.

I still think we need to see the whistleblower report and/or see the transcripts.

This is one of the frustrations with those insisting that "we already know he's committed impeachable offenses so they need to impeach today." Knowing and proving are two very different things. And if everyone already knew what we say we know, impeachment would be a no-brainer. But everyone doesn't yet "know' he's committed impeachable offenses - that's the point of the inquiry.

..what is truly going on. Their hysteria is based on impatience, which I understand but this absolutely has to be done right the first time being the Senate is full of traitors.

Pelosi is not going to go public until the gauntlet is ready. She's one of the smartest leaders the country has ever had. I trust her and that is based on her track record dealing with these republican assholes.

timing is everything here - the sooner the feces really hits the fan closer to election date, the better. Especially since impeachment before the election will almost certainly fail and Dump would be able to claim vindication and victory.
